I've always loved the idea of a Maine-centric travel blog. It's something I've wanted to do for as long as I can remember. In fact over a decade ago, I had a Wordpress site that I was all gung-ho about but it lost steam.
Today, however, Heavy Element is well-positioned to help me realize this dream!
Enter stage right: The Vacationlanders.
What's in a name?
"Why The Vacationlanders?"
It's simple. Maine is known, far and wide, as Vacationland. And we're among the many folks who live, work, and play here! Plus, we love Maine.
I've mosied through these great United States and I can tell you that Vacationland is special. There's an unmatched sense of community here, a cultural heritage, and a welcoming atmosphere.
That's something we aim to capture on TheVacationlanders.com and we're hoping you'll find value in it!
What to expect
This is a passion project for us here at Heavy Element where Emily, myself, and our friends will be journaling our Maine-based adventures on a weekly basis! (And maybe even more.)
We already have a few exciting adventures planned including community events that celebrate the arts, live performances, and a whole lot more!
So whether you're a local, a visitor, or you're part of the Maine diaspora, we hope you'll enjoy our little adventure log. And hopefully it will inspire you on your journeys throughout our beautiful Vacationland!
Our First Adventure
Our first adventure was to Stone Tree Farm & Cidery in Unity, Maine. There was excellent live music, delicious food, neighborly patrons, and, of course, natural beauty to behold.
It's a quick and easy four minute read and in the first 12 hours, it's already received over 400 views!
Hopefully, you'll give it a read for yourself and let us know what you think!
A Beautiful Afternoon at Stone Tree Farm & Cidery
Tonight we attended Stone Tree Farm & Cidery's celebration of Open Winery Day in Unity, Maine.
